About: September is not usually the best time to visit a public garden but the one at Worth Matravers did not rely solely on annual plants for the interest. Even though this garden was quite small it was so pretty and welcoming.

About: These brightly coloured begonias were photographed at the end of the summer when the grounds at Highcliffe were looking magnificent. An edition of the Antiques Roadshow was filmed in these grounds but not on the day that we visited.

About: These gorgeous bright red papavers or cultivated poppies caught our eye, and make a pretty photograph. The vast majority of the cottages at Sutton Poyntz all have amazing gardens full of vibrant colour.
