About: This very popular beach was nearly empty on the day we visited as it was cold and cloudy most of the time. Dogs are not permitted on the beach during the summer season but can walk along the promenade in front of the beach huts.

About: Friars Cliff beach is located between Christchurch and Highcliffe and it is signposted from the A337 Lymington Road. Even on an overcast day the beach is worth a visit.

About: Coastal erosion has been a problem along the Dorset coastline and these characteristic stone and wooden groynes are a common feature in the area.

About: The nearest parking at Friars cliff is located off Seaway Avenue or Southcliffe Road. These beach huts are very popular with families as this lovely beach offers safe swimming and paddling.
