About: Kimmeridge is the ideal spot for geologists and fossil hunters and it is also dog friendly all year round. At low tide it is possible to walk out along this rock runway but care must be taken on the green slimy bits.

About: The cliffs of Kimmeridge Bay are very striking with their distinctive bands of shales, claystone, dolomite and mudstones. These rock layers give an excellent record of the sequence of events that took place during the Jurassic period

About: The bay at Kimmeridge has a somewhat strange feel to it and was once called the 'Haunted Bay. There is a toll road leading to the sea with a good sized car park at the end.

About: It is a common sight at Kimmeridge to see people walking along with their heads down looking for evidence of fossils. In the past the hard, bituminous shale which runs through the cliffs has been worked. To begin with it was used as a fuel even tho......

About: After a day not being able to take photographs because of the rain, it was a pleasure to get out and capture this amazing sky at Kimmeridge. The rays of light coming from under the clouds illuminated the whole bay.
