About: Symondsbury is one of the largest parishes in this part of Dorset. It is bounded by the Marshwood Vale to the north and the World Heritage Jurassic Coast to the south. The village is locate about 16 miles west of Dorchester and one and a half miles west of Bridport, The River Simene has its source just north of the parish and then meanders through Symondsbury and meets with the River Brit to carry on its journey to the sea at West Bay.
