About: When we travel through this part of Dorset we always look to see Colmers Hill. From this angle it does not look to be as a conical as when viewed from the main road. The sandstone hill topped by pine trees is highly visible from the main street in Bridport and its origins extend back to around the 11th Century. The hill takes its name from the "Colmer Tenement" , Rev. John Colmer was the rector from 1805-06
