About: The Globe is located to the south of Durlston Castle, down a long flight of steps. The globe is 10 feet in diameter and weighs 40 tons. It was built by John Mowlems Greenwich works and was brought to Durlston in sections. The globe is the largest sculpture created by George Burt and is made from local Portland Limestone
