About: The beautiful pub at Osmington Mills is the Smugglers Inn. It was once called the Crown, and later the Picnic but Smugglers is more appropriate because it was here that the smugglers landed their cargo in the 18th century. The Smugglers Inn was the headquarters of the famous French smuggler Pierre Latour, better known locally as French Peter.
