About: Milton Abbey estate was sold and divided up in 1932. The Ecclesiastical Commissioners bought the Abbey and for some time the house beside the Abbey was a healing centre. In 1953 the grounds were bought by a trust which established a school which still flourishes today. The school has five houses called Athelstan, Tregonwell, Bancks, Damer and Hambro.
