About: The original Boscombe Pier was built in 1888 by a private company and was sold to the Bournemouth Corporation in 1903. Boscombe pier has recently undergone two million pound restoration to make the structure safe and open to the public hopefully this has secured its future for another generation at a time when many of the UK’s remaining seaside piers are being left to crumble into the sea.
