About: This imposing building houses the Royal Arcade shopping centre at Boscombe. The commercial centre of Boscombe owes much to the work of Archibald Beckett who came to Bournemouth in 1888 but within a year he had moved to Boscombe, which was to be the main centre of his activities for the next seven to eight years
