Title: Peaceful River
Place: Wareham
About: Looking at the river at Wareham today it is difficult to imagine that this was the place of viking conquest. In 876, Guthrum sailed his fleet into the harbour and attacked Wareham, Vikings also raided Wareham, when King Canute capture it in 1016 AD as at this time Wareham was an important port.
